The South Korea Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index increased for the third successive month, rising to 50.1, from 49.4 in November.
South Korea’s manufacturing sector ended 2019 strong, The country’s latest PMI data showed output and new orders have now moved into expansion (PMI > 50) for the first time since October 2018. Improving export demand has improved as sales to various parts of Asia have picked up.
As confidence has improved, companies have raised output charges for the first time in over a year.
